Here's the Second Fake Cutty Sark Appearance From "Arrow"

This clip featuring a crate of Mindon Scotch (aka Fake Cutty Sark) is from season 2 episode 3.  We get a much better look at the label and logo in this scene than in the previous post.  Keep sending in these "Arrow" sightings and I'll keep postin' em!

The First Scotch in "Arrow" is a Cutty Sark Knockoff

Over the years we've seen fake Glenlivets, fake Lagavulins, and dozens of fake Macallans, but this is definitely the first appearance of a fake Cutty Sark to show up on screen.  The name on the bottle is "Mindon Scotch" but the distinct yellow label and the iconic tall ship are unmistakable.  You might find the name rather hard to read in this clip from season 1 episode 19.  Not to worry, our next post features a much closer and more detailed shot of a crate of Mindon.

The Long Lost Lagavulin Sighting from "Parks & Recreation"

Believe it or not, this is actually the sixth Lagavulin sighting from "Parks & Recreation".  Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) has been a goldmine for SC over the years and this fantastic series has been greatly missed since it went off the air.  The scene takes place at the 18 minute mark in season 5 episode 14.  It has been rumoured that there is one last sighting out there but it still has yet to be found.  Keep sending your tips via email, twitter, Facebook, or by leaving a comment below.

Balvenie in the Season Premiere of "Colony"

"Colony" is back with a bang and its looking like season 2 might be even better than season 1.  More importantly, the scotch sightings are back.  Only this time it's a Balvenie sighting instead of Glenlivet or Black Label.  This scene takes place about 20 minutes into the episode.  Click the links below to watch the 2 previous "Colony" sightings.

Conan O'Brien Needs Scotch to Cope With Andrew Dice Clay

This one was too great not to share.  Andrew Dice Clay was on the January 19th episode of "Conan" and he told a few stories (in his usual style) that were so ridiculous that O'Brien needed some liquid strength to help him deal.  This is a heavily edited clip but the entire interview is embedded below.

Scarlett Johansson Talks Scotch With Letterman

It's always great to watch Dice mix it up with talk show hosts and I'm loving the career resurgence he's been having in the last few years.  Who would've though he'd have his own series and be appearing in Woody Allen films after the rollercoaster of a career he's had?  It might be time to dig out some of his old comedy specials.

Bart Simpson Chugging Red Label in "The Simpson's Movie"

Now here's one you probably didn't see coming.  This clip is from the 2007 Simpsons Movie.  I haven't seen the movie in a while, but if I remember correctly, a bunch of wacky stuff happens and Homer causes some kind of situation or makes some trouble for his family and everything gets resolved at the end.  Or something like that.  The Red Label sighting takes place at the 40 minute mark in the movie when bart raids the mini bar in the family's seedy motel room.

Bradley Cooper Drinking Chivas in "War Dogs"

Stop whatever it is you are doing.  Put down the bong, climb out of the tub, remove the Oculus Rift, and watch this movie immediately.  If you are a fan of other films like "The Wolf of Wall Street", "The Hangover", "Scarface", or even "Three Kings",  then "War Dogs" is right up your alley.  The Chivas appearance was merely the icing on the cake for fans of malts and movies.

Any spoilers have been edited out.  Promise!  This scene features Bradley Cooper and Miles Teller having a rather intense discussion in a luxury Miami high-rise apartment.  Enjoy the short clip and don't forget to keep sending in more awesomeness like this.

Johnny Walker Red Label in Peter Jackson's "King Kong"

Here's a quickie which y'all might've missed.  It's a brief Red Label mention from the beginning of the 2005 "King Kong" remake.  We see the actual crate of Red Label at around the 20 minute mark in the film.  How many remakes/reboots of this thing are we going to get by the time this whole fiasco is said and done?
Never mind

Sneaky Pete Sipping Some Pappy Van Winkle From a Paper Cup

Well it's about goddamn time Giovanni Ribisi got his own show.  The first season of the new Amazon series "Sneaky Pete" kicked off with a bang and left us all wanting more.  And let's not forget the fact that the villain is played by Bryan Cranston.  It is great to see Heisenberg himself back on the small screen.

This is only the second Pappy Van Winkle* sighting in the nearly 6 years and 400 sightings we've brought you sing SC went online back in 1773.  Wait..what?  The previous sighting was from the romantic comedy "Crazy Stupid Love" starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.  This scene takes place 22 minutes into the pilot episode and clearly shows a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle's 20 year old Family Reserve.

*I fully understand that Pappy Van Winkle is a Bourbon

Macallan is the Second Scotch to Appear in "Daredevil"

Here's a quick clip from season 2 episode 5.  This scene takes place about halfway through the episode and features the Macallan 12 prominently.  It has been over a year and a half since we posted the previous scotch sighting from Daredevil.  Hopefully we won't have to wait that long for the next single malt to show up on the fantastic Netflix series.

Is Oliver Samuel a Person of Interest?

Didn't see this one coming.  One of the most popular whisky sightings in the history of SC has been the fake malt known as Oliver Samuel from the show Blue Bloods.  The bottle and label looks completely different in the clip above but the font is the same.  This bottle of Oliver Samuel appeared in season 1 episode 8 of Person of Interest.

Another Fake Glenlivet for a "Modern Family"

It has taken over 6 months but we've finally found more scotch sightings from ABC's Modern Family.  Check out the clip above from season 6 episode 4.  This is another shot of what might be the same bottle of GlenKnobbs...or GlenKnolls.  This is actually the THIRD appearance of this fake scotch and the name on the bottle is still indecipherable.

Kevin Costner Consumes Enough 50 Year Old Scotch to Kill an Army

After watching the 2014 film Black or White starring Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer it is easy to see why the filmmakers chose to use a fake scotch for all of these scenes.  Elliot Anderson (Costner) drinks so much 50 year old Glencallan in this film that I literally lost count and unfortunately missed a few sightings.  Elliot also has a serious drinking problem and is a terrible drunk.  It is safe to say that very few spirit brands would like to see their product dragged through the mud the way Glencallan was in this film.

I started watching this film solely because several people had told me that there was a pile whisky scotch sightings throughout.  After about 10 minutes I was so caught up in the story and Costner's performance that I was glued to the screen.  Black or White is a drastically underrated movie and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.  I usually agree with Rotten Tomatoes but this is one of those rare instances where I cannot fathom why the movie was given such a low score.

THREE Laphroaig Sightings in One Movie

Its always great to see this peaty single malt pop up in a movie or tv show.  Its even better when you spot a 25 year.  A bottle of 25 year old Laphroaig is as rare on screen as it is on the shelf of your local whisky shop.  Thanks to the 2014 film Listen Up Philip for featuring it prominently.
