DONALD TRUMP SCOTCH: "Never Trust a Man Who Doesn't Drink"

This actually exists.  Apparently, back when Donald Trump was opening Trump International Golf Links near Aberdeen Scotland he also released this limited edition 26 year old single malt.  Like most of the weird, sketchy, ridiculous products he licenses his name to, The Donald had nothing to do with the actual production of this bottling of course.  He simply slapped his name on it and went on his way.

As much as I hate to admit it, this appears to be a fantastic bottling.  The reviews I've read have been stellar.  Having said that, it's hard to go wrong with a 26 year old Glendronach.  For a man who doesn't drink, he managed to hit the nail on the head with this bad boy.  I've tasted several Glendronach expressions over the years and have never been disappointed.  Here's one positive review from SoManyWhiskies.

When is comes to this particular malt, I'm honestly not even certain about what the name is.  I guess it's called "Trump Scotland".  Or perhaps "Trump Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Scotland".  Regardless,  pretty much any name is better than "Grab 'em by the whisky".

It's hard to say what this puppy sold for upon initial release as it was limited to 504 bottles and was only available at Trump golf courses.  Lately it has been sold at auctions for around USD $380 and an autographed bottle has gone for as much as USD $2050.  It definitely seems like this product is more successful and of a higher quality than the countless others he's been pushing on us over the last 3 decades.

Does anyone remember that "Super Premium" Vodka he cranked out back in the day?  I've never personally tasted it and since it went under I thankfully never will.  Here's a funny review and watch the video below for the Trump Vodka commercial he made for his good friends over in Russia.

Here's a short (but hilarious) clip of the folks at Buzzed tasting it.

Ooh and remember when Trump took a giant crap all over Glenfiddich for sponsoring some event which gave some award to some dude who doesn't like him?  Remember that? No?

I've never heard anyone refer to Glenfiddich as "Garbage Alcohol" before.  Hey, speaking of garbage alcohol...

A Scene From "Snowden" Featuring Johnnie Walker Black Label

This gotta be the shortest scotch sighting we've ever posted.  Clocking in at under 20 seconds, don't blink or you'll miss this one.  About 36 minutes into the amazing 2016 Oliver Stone film Snowden we see Timothy Olyphant sipping some Black Label while schooling a young Edward Snowden on how to be a spook.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt better get nominated for this performance or I'm moving to Russia.

"Nicolas Cage" Stars in 3 Japanese Whiskey Commercials

Not sure how these flew under our radar.  Back in 2014 Funny or Die released these bizarre commercials for a fake Japanese whiskey starring a fake Nick Cage.  The idea of a super famous celeb shilling for a product in a foreign market isn't really out of the ordinary.  There have been quite a few big name actors who have starred in some rather obscure commercials for scotch, rye, bourbon, etc.

Check out these examples and watch the Nicolas cage clips below.

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Spotted in "Suits"

After nearly two years we've finally got ourselves another scotch sighting from the fantastic USA series Suits.  This one features Mike (Patrick J. Adams) sipping some Johnnie Walker Blue Label with Rachel's dad after dinner.  The clip is from the 5th episode of the 3rd season entitled "Shadow of a Doubt".

The First Non-Macallan Scotch Sighting in Suits

This is the 4th sighting (so far) throughout the series and, for some reason, this post from 2012 is one of the most popular in the history of the site.  Keep sending in these tips and they'll definitely be featured...eventually.  2016 has been SC's best year yet and we're definitely looking forward to some big news in 2017.

How to Drink Scotch Whisky This Christmas

The Always Elusive Oban 14 Spotted in "Grace & Frankie"

Its official; Sam Waterston likes Oban single malt whisky.  The above clip is actually the FOURTH time we've spotted him drinking Oban.  Don't believe me? Peep this...

Crazy, right?  This scene is from season 2 episode 7 of the Netflix series Grace & Frankie.  It has been a little over 3 years since the last sighting of this deliciously smoky sweet malt with it's West Highland flavour has popped up on screen.  In the past we've seen in in everything from great movies (like this one) to crappy movies (like this one), and hopefully it'll start showing up more often in the future.

Shout out to Meleklerin Payi for submitting this clip!

Is That Johnnie Walker Gold Label in "The Watch" Starring Ben Stiller?

SPOILER ALERT: Yes, it is Johnnie Walker Gold Label.  This movie came out nearly 5 years ago and I'm just getting around to posting this clip now.  This scene was buried so far down under the pile of scotch sightings that I had to use the Canadarm to dig it out.  It is also only the 2nd Gold Label sighting...ever.  Click here for the previous one.

The scene takes place about 18 minutes into the film when Vince Vaughn invites the new neighbourhood watch group over to his man cave for a meeting and some drinks.  Vaughn plays his usual arrogant oblivious ignorant hilarious character to perfection in this film.  The Watch is an extremely underrated comedy and I suggest you get off your lazy tuchus and watch it asap.

This comedy is another great example of Ben Stiller playing the straight man as well as he plays the goofball.  Here's a few other Stiller related sightings from back in the day.

And if you really wanna dive down the rabbit hole, here are the five Lagavulin sightings from Parks & Recreation featuring Offerman.  Number 5 is not to be missed.

A Great Fake Whisky Sighting From "The Royals"

We just had to post this scene from the 4th episode of season 1 of The Royals.  They don't specifically use the word "scotch" when referring to the Old Creek distillery, which means the phone whisky itself may be produced somewhere in England as opposed to Scotland.  But it's a funny clip none the less.

Another Canceled Show Featuring People Drinking Balmoor

Revenge is a show which not only existed but actually aired for 4 seasons.  It was on the ABC network from 2011 to 2014.  It is also one of only 5 shows which have featured people drinking the popular fake scotch known as Balmoor.

Only one of the 5 shows is still standing.

Are You Tired of These Retro Christmas Scotch Ads Yet?

Johnnie Walker Blue Label in "The West Wing"

It has been exactly 5 years since the we last posted a scotch sighting from The West Wing.  This seems like the kind of show which would feature people drinking the stuff every second episode.  Oh well, I'll take what I can get.  This scene takes place halfway through the 9th episode of season 3 which aired all the way back in 2001.  It is also the first we've heard of a 60 year old scotch being used the blending of Blue Label.  Can anyone clarify this?
