Johnnie Walker Invades Homeland...Again

Well, it's official.  Saul Berenson loves him some Johnnie Walker.  We saw him enjoying some Double Black in the previous sighting from this season.  This time around he's sharing a bottle of the old tried and true Black Label.  The video is from season 3 episode 7 entitled "Gerontion" and takes place at the 42 minute mark.

I was worried for a while that Homeland had lost it's way this season but it came back with a vengence about midway through.  Trust me.  It is worth while to hang in with this series.  Unlike some others which I won't mention here.

The Third Oban Sighting from HBO's The Newsroom

My only complaint about the latest season of The Newsroom is that it was way too short.  Just like this scotch sighting.  If you look very closely at around the 19 minute mark of episode 7, you just might spot the Oban bottle which has popped up twice in the past.  Or you could simply watch the quick clip I went through the trouble of editing for you.  Either way...enjoy!

Ron Burgundy Blended Scotch Whisky

We knew it had to happen sooner or later.  In a stroke of marketing genius a blended scotch whisky known as "Ron Burgundy: Great Odin's Raven Special Reserve" will be hitting the shelves just in time for Christmas.  I'm sure it will go great with a bowl of Ben & Jerry's Scotchy Scotch Scotch ice cream as well.  Anchorman II: The Legend Continues will hit theatres December 18th and I plan on being there to witness the glory in all its....umm...glory.

Click here to check out the clip of Ron Burgundy himself ordering a Glenlivet.  Now that he has his own blend I wonder if he'll turn his back on his original trademark single malt.  This new bottling is a blend of Highland, Speyside, and Islay malts.  If anyone knows where/how I can get my filthy hands on a bottle please let me know.  I'm trying to beat Santa to the punch.

Another Oban Sighting From HBO's "The Newsroom"

This is one of those blink-and-you'll-miss-it sightings, but since I love this show as much as I love Oban 14, it had to be included.  The clip is from season 2 episode 5 and takes place about 21 minutes in.  Once again, this episode was packed with great dialogue and this scene features some great back-and-forth between Sam Waterston & Frank Wood.  There'll be another Oban scene from The Newsroom coming up shortly as well.

Check out the video and a few screenshots.  Click here for the previous Newsroom sighting.

Glancallan Spotted in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

We can officially add the new Marvel series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to the loooong list of TV shows in which Glencallan has appeared.  For a fake scotch it sure is popular.  It shows up 37 minutes into episode 5.  Watch the video and check out some screenshots below. Judd Apatow Unveils Ron Burgundy's "Scotchy Scotchy Scotch" Ice Cream on Jimmy Fallon

As a die hard fan of both scotch and Ben & Jerry's I cannot wait to get my filthy hands on this stuff.  Judd Apatow appeared on the October 24th episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to promote Anchorman II: The Legend Continues, and while he was there, Jimmy broke out a tub of this (presumably) scrumptious tub of buttersccotchy goodness.

Check out the clip as well as the latest Anchorman 2 trailer.  And don't forget to watch this classic scotch sighting from the original anchorman film.

Johnnie Walker Double Black In Homeland

The season premiere of the Showtime series Homeland marks the TV debut of Johnnie Walker Double Black.  Frankly, it's about time.  The sighting occurred at the 26 minute mark in the episode entitled Tin Man is Down.  Check out the video and some screenshots.

Leonardo Dicaprio's Jim Beam Commercial

If seeing an A-list hollywood star in a quirky commercial from a foreign country comes as a surprise, it shouldn't.  There are countless celebrities who have cashed in abroad by making commercials which are never meant to be seen by western audiences.  YouTube is filled with whisky commercials featuring stars such as Keanu Reeves, Sharon Stone, Sean Connery, and many more.

This Jim Beam bourbon ad from Japan is short but its pretty entertaining none the less.  It is also, believe it or not, the first time Leonardo Dicaprio has been featured on this site.

Christina Hendricks Stars in Two New Johnnie Walker Commercials

Here's two quick Johnnie Walker commercials starring the greatest brand ambassador of all time, Christina Hendricks.  They're basically the exact same ad except one is for Black Label, and one is for red.  Stay tuned for a great Video of Ms. Hendricks enjoying some black label with Jimmy Kimmel coming soon.

As I'm sure you know, Christina is the amazing actress whose brilliant portrayal of secretary turned partner Joan Holloway on the AMC series Mad Men is many viewer's main reason for never missing an episode.

Parks & Recreation Delivers the Best Lagavulin Sighting Ever!

The clip you're about to watch is one of those scenes which seems tailor-made for fans of this site.  I won't even waste your time describing what happens here.  You'll just have to see it for yourself.  There have been four Parks & Recreation Lagavulin sightings in the past but they all pale in comparison to the latest one.

The video contains various scenes from the sixth season premiere episode edited together.  This was one of the funniest episodes of the series and is a must see, even for the casual Parks & Recreation fan.

UPDATE:  Just found another Lagvulin sighting from way back in season three.  Stay tuned!!!

The Third "How I Met Your Mother" Glen McKenna Scene

Looks like another great show is coming to an end.  That's right, the final season of How I Met Your Mother is upon us.  Thank goodness they saw fit to give us one last sighting of the mysterious Highland single malt known as Glen McKenna.  I personally don't know what I would've done without one last peek at those delicious highland clumps.  For a little history on this sublime whisky, one need look no further than the two previous sightings which can be found here and here.  Strangely enough, the first Glen McKenna sighting is actually the most popular post in the 2.5 year history of this site.  Not too shabby for a scotch which doesn't even exist.  The popularity of the Glen McKenna clips on this site are a testament to the connection How I Met Your Mother has to its die hard fan base.  It is a show filled with more inside jokes, quotable lines, and drinking game caliber tropes & trivia than any other sitcom in the history of television.

The third and final Glen Mckenna appearance takes place about 10 minutes into episode 3 from this season.  The episode is entitled "Last Time in New York".  Check out the video and some screenshots below.  I've heard rumblings on the interwebosphere that there are more sightings from How I Met Your Mother but have come up with nothing thus far.  Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Heisenberg Sips Another Dimple Pinch in Breaking Bad

SPOILER ALERT!!!  If you're currently suffering from mild depression and anxiety this week, take comfort in the fact that you are not alone.  That's right, the end is truly nigh.  Arguably the greatest show in the history of television will air its final episode in just 4 days.  Millions of viewers around the world will now have no choice but to...pour a glass of Dimple and start all over again at episode one!

This clip has been edited down a little in an attempt to avoid giving away too much.  Walter White sits down at a local watering hole and orders a glass of Dimple Pinch which he believes will be the last dram he'll ever taste.  Good choice!

Check out the video as well as some screenshots and artwork below.

The Third (and Final?) True Blood Scotch Sighting

Here's the last of three scotch sightings from the HBO series that has become everyone's guilty pleasure, True Blood.  This clip features not only my two favorite characters (Sam & Lafayette), but it also features Johnnie Walker Black Label which happens to be my favorite blend.  The scene takes place about 14 minutes into the 3rd episode from this season entitled "You're no good".

This sighting was brought to my attention via a text from my good friend Mike.  I'd ask you all to follow him on Twitter but he's far too cool to bother setting up an account apparently.

Check out the scene and some screenshots below.  Click here and here for the previous True Blood sightings.

UPDATE:  Looks like True Blood recently got picked up for a 7th season.  Perhaps there might me more sightings in our future after all...
