Johnnie Walker Black Label Spotted in True Blood

Well, it took five seasons but we finally have a scotch sighting from the hit HBO series True Blood.  I figured a show about vampires, werewolves, witches, and shape shifters would feature a more smokey, peaty, or mysterious malt like Ardbeg, or Lagavulin, or Peat Monster perhaps.  See?  This is why they need to hire me as a consultant for these shows.

The Johnnie Walker Black Label bottle is a little hard to spot as it isn't prominently featured but check out the clip below.  It's actually a pretty funny scene too.  There is some strong language but that is to be expected in an episode of True Blood.

Johnnie Walker Gold Label Spotted in "The Watch" Trailer

Can't go wrong with Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, and Jonah Hill together in the same comedy.  At least I hope not.  The trailer for The Watch contains a funny line about scotch as well as a very brief glimpse of Vince Vaughn pouring a dram of Johnnie Walker Gold label.  I barely caught it when the trailer played at the beginning of the movie Ted a few weeks ago but here it is.  Thank goodness for Youtube.

The Watch (Aka Neighborhood Watch) hits theaters tomorrow.  Check out the preview below as well as a screenshot and an alternate poster.

Glengoolie Sighting in the FX Series "Archer" (Pt. 2)

Here's the second Glengoolie sighting from everybody's favorite bumbling spy cartoon Archer.  This one is also from season two.  The Glengoolie pops up in the 11th episode entitled "Jeu Monegasque" in which the ISIS team travels to Monte Carlo.

I haven't been able to spot any other Glengoolie appearances so far but since there are four seasons in total I may still get lucky yet.  Let me know if y'all find any.  Don't bother looking for it in any other shows as it doesn't actually exist.

Glengoolie Sighting in the FX Series "Archer" (Pt. 1)

Here is the first sighting of the elusive mystery malt known as Glengoolie from the hilarious cartoon series "Archer".  For those of you who are unfamiliar with this show I highly recommend checking it out. Sterling Archer is a secret agent who works for a spy agency called ISIS which is run by his mom.  The jokes come flying a mile a minute and I often have to hit rewind in order to catch a one-liner I might've missed.

Archer's drink of choice is Glengoolie which he is seen consuming in several episodes.  He discribes it as a "mid-range scotch" in this clip.  Looks a lot like Glenfiddich to me.

Dimple Sighting In the Season Premiere of "Breaking Bad"

MAGNETS!!!  It seems like it's been forever but the new season of Breaking Bad is finally here.  This is my all-time favorite series and I was floored when I spotted the bottle of Dimple in the season premiere.  At the beginning of the episode, Walter White (aka Heisenberg, aka The Danger, aka The One Who Knocks) simply wants to enjoy a dram of Dimple and unwind after a very long day.  He gets interrupted several times by some loose ends which need tying up.  This was another white-knuckle episode which is not to be missed.  Check out the video below along with some screenshots and other artwork.

If you haven't had a chance to watch the show, try to imagine a series where a man is transforming from Ned Flanders into Scarface.  Every episode is another step toward the dark side and and since this is the final season, the journey is nearly complete.  Walter White has officially gone full Heisenberg!

The Official "Angels' Share" Trailer

Looks like we'll all be trying to spot quite a few brands of scotch once this movie is released.  According to IMDB the film (Directed by Ken Loach) has a June 1st 2012 release dat but no word on when it'll be shown in North America.

Hopefully I'll be able to post the actual sightings from The Angel's Share sooner rather than later.  If anyone has had a chance to see the movie then let me know what you've spotted.  I hear it's great.  Can't wait to see it myself.

Robert Downey Jr. Chugs Dimple in "Only You"

It looks like we finally have the first non-Iron Man scotch sighting starring Robert Downey Jr.  This scene with the Dimple bottle pops up about an hour and a half into the 1994 romantic comedy Only You (directed by Norman Jewison) and also features Billy Zane.

Once again I gotta thank my man Bozkurt for sending me yet another great sighting.  He is the definitely reigning champ so far.  Don't know how he does it.  Any other movie/whisky fans out there in Alcohollywood are always welcome to submit your tips via Twitter, Facebook, email or by simply leaving a comment below.

P.S. I have a funny feeling there will be another Dimple sighting shortly.  Stay Tuned...

Cragganmore spotted in the movie "Orphans"

This is our third Cragganmore post.  Big thanks to Whisky Blender for sending yet another amazing sighting.  Click here and here for the previous Cragganmore appearances.  All the tips being sent in each day can be overwhelming but I assure you that all submissions will be featured........sooner or later.

This particular scene is from the 1998 Scottish film Orphans.  The Cragganmore pops up at the 55 minute mark in the film.  Looks like this Speysider is a great dram to enjoy over a game of darts.  Check out the clip and a Ralfy review below.

FINALLY!!! Here's the Anchorman II Trailer!

Here it is, scotch lovers.  The movie you've been waiting eight years (almost to the day) to see.  Ron Burgundy is BACK!!!  Well...he will be back at some point in the not-to-distant future.  In the meantime we can enjoy this teaser trailer below.

Hopefully the sequel can live up to the original cult classic.  Now if they would just make a Big Lebowski sequel my life would be complete.  Click here to watch the scotch sighting from Anchorman: The legend of Ron Burgundy in which he orders some Glenlivet.

Sightings, tips, and suggestions are always welcome.  Click here to like Scotch Cinema on Facebook.
