Slow Motion Exploding Cocktails

Is it just me or does 5000 fps really make everything more awesome?
This video is actually an amalgamation of deleted footage. Created by Ty Migota on aPhantom High-Speed Camcorder, these scenes—each between 5,000 and 89000 fps—were intended to become part of the opening credits for Nik Perleros' movie "How To Get Laid" but didn't quite make the final cut. Instead, Migota stitched them together, overlaid a soundtrack by the Beastie Boys, and voila—super slo-mo shots of shots being shot.
Big thanks to the folks over at Gizmodo for putting this on our radar.

George Clooney & John Krasinski Share some Balvenie

You never know where The Balvenie is going to pop up or who will be drinking it.  In the past we've seen Morgan Freeman, Matthew McConnoughey, and Ian Holm among others enjoying this delicious Speyside single malt.

Our latest sighting comes from the 2008 film Leatherheads.  At the 1:01:17 mark in the film we see George Clooney and John Krasinski splitting a bottle of Balvenie after a a fairly brutal (yet oddly respectful) fist fight.  Who wouldn't want a dram of Balvenie after being repeatedly punched in the face?

Click here for our previous Balvenie sightings and be sure to "like" Scotch Cinema on Facebook.

Macallan 25 Year Old in "The Change Up"

Our latest Macallan sighting was sent to us from @fr1day (aka Mark Hughes) on Twitter.  Check out his amazing whisky related site here.  Anyone else who has submitted sightings will definitely have their videos posted asap.

This is actually Scotch Cinema's first MacAllan 25 year old sighting.  Our five previous sightings can be found here.  This one takes place at the 1:18:35 mark in the film and the scene features Olivia Wilde and Ryan Reynolds.  The film itself was actually funnier than expected considering the poor reviews.

The Second "How I Met Your Mother" Sighting

Just a quick clip of the second Glen McKenna appearance from CBS' How I Met Your Mother.  This is also the second John Lithgow appearance on our site.  Check out his previous scene in Dexter from a few weeks ago here.

In this scene from episode nine from season six entitled "Legendaddy" Lithgow plays Barney's (Neil Patrick Harris) long lost father.  While getting reacquainted they discover that they have a lot in common including their taste in scotch.

Time For Another "Supernatural" Sighting!

Our first sighting from season 7 is from episode 4 entitled "Defending You Life".  Looks like there's no Johnnie Walker Blue or GlenCraig in this particular scene but what we do have is another example of Dean Winchester's undeniable ability to charm the ladies.

Thanks to all of you fellow Supernatural fans out there who have spotted these scenes and sent them to us by email and on Twitter. There are too many sightings in this series to post them all but we love getting them.

Click here for the previous Supernatural sightings and check out the video below.

The Macallan 18 in an Episode of "NCIS"

Its been four months since we last featured this delicious Speyside single malt and it was beginning to look like there were no more sightings out there.  Luckily it popped up in this episode of NCIS titled "Conspiracy Theory".  This one goes all the way back to season 2.  The bottle featured in the first clip is nearly impossible to spot and it appears as though an effort has been made to conceal it behind a plant.  We've featured screenshots at the bottom so let us know if you suspect something other than Macallan.

The Macallan is mentioned by name in the second part of the clip.  Click here for previous Macallan sightings.

Our First "How I Met Your Mother" Sighting

We're finally getting around to posting the scotch sightings from the great CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother.  Scotch is featured prominently throughout the series thanks to the exquisite taste of womanizer extraordinaire Barney Stinson (played by Neil Patrick Harris).  Oddly enough Barney is barely even in this clip and has no dialogue.  Those of you with a sharp eye might have spotted an 83 year old Barney at the 30 second mark in the video.  Long story.  Don't ask.

This is one of several appearances of the fake Glen McKenna scotch throughout How I Met Your Mother.  We'll post the rest soon.

UPDATE: Click here for the most recent sighting!!

New Johnnie Walker Commercial Featuring Don Johnson

Thought you might enjoy this great new commercial for Johnnie Walker Black Label.  It is part of their "Important Man" campaign.  Click here to watch the whole series.  The overall theme of the commercial feels a little like a rip-off of the recent Old Spice guy spots which were extremely popular.  We'll give them a pass and call this commercial a parody or an homage.  It is funny and very well done which is all that counts.  Check it out below.

Glenfiddich in "Dexter" (Part 2)

Here's the second Glenfiddich sighting from the Showtime original series "Dexter".  This scene is from Season 4 episode three entitled "Blinded by the Light" and features the always brilliant John Lithgow.

Unlike out previous Glenfiddich sighting, the year on the bottle in this particular scene is crystal clear.  Looks like serial killer extraordinaire Arthur Mitchell (Lithgow) prefers the standard 12 year old.

Thanks to everyone who submitted numerous sightings on twitter and on our new Facebook page.  Feel free to email any tips to scotchcinema@gmail.com.

Glenfiddich in "Dexter" (Part 1)

It's been a while since we've had a decent Glenfiddich sighting.  A few bottles have popped up here and there but the last good appearance was from The Men Who Stare at Goats back in May.  Now is a great time to hit you fine folks with a double-shot, courtesy of Dexter.

Hard to tell if we're looking at the 15 year or 18 year in this clip. Leave a comment below if you think you got it figured out.  The label seems to be (intentionally) blurred which doesn't help at all.  This sighting is from Season 3 episode 7.  There are a few close-up screenshots below the video.  Stay tuned for part 2 in our next post and click here for the previous Glenfiddich sightings.

Our First Jura Sighting in "National Treasure II"

Yes, we realize it is only a miniature Jura bottle and yes, we realize that he doesn't really drink it.  Having said that, this is our first Jura sighting so we'll take what we can get.  if you wanna really get technical then consider the fact that Nicholas Cage does pour some Jura on his hand before putting his hand in his mouth.  He does this so that security will smell it on his breath and assume he is intoxicated.

The Jura sighting and some close-up pics are below.  Click here for our previous Nicolas Cage sighting and here for our previous sighting with Diane Kruger.
